Joints Health

"Caring for your joints is essential for maintaining mobility and supporting long-term joint function."

Joints are the connecting points between bones. They enable a range of movements, from bending and stretching to twisting.

As they support weight and play a vital role in the body’s ability to move, compromised joint health can make activities like walking, climbing stairs, and picking up objects significantly challenging. Maintaining joint health is essential for mobility.

Over time, injuries may occur due to accidents or aging, leading to joint pain or chronic conditions like arthritis. However, with proper care, joint-related issues can often be prevented or effectively managed.

More about Joints Health

Joint health issues can manifest through various symptoms, ranging from mild discomfort to debilitating pain. Early recognition of such symptoms may help diagnose and manage underlying conditions.

Not everybody experiences these symptoms to the same extent and degree. Symptoms vary with individuals and with conditions. The most common symptoms include but are not limited to:

Swelling

It is the apparent enlargement around the joint due to inflammation or fluid collection. It can be tender to the touch and involves diseases like bursitis, gout, and injuries like sprains.

Stiffness

Joint stiffness, often worse after inactivity or in the morning, can hinder movement. It may signal conditions like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or frozen shoulder.

Redness and warmth

In general, a red and warm joint is considered inflamed. This symptom can vary from rheumatoid arthritis to gout or even septic arthritis, for which you need to seek immediate attention.

Reduced range of motion

An inability to fully move a joint, often due to cartilage damage in osteoarthritis, stiffness from a frozen shoulder, or severe injuries affecting joint function.

Clicking or popping (Crepitus)

Clicking, popping, or grinding in the joints during movement often signals cartilage wear in osteoarthritis or damage to structures like the menisci in the knee.
